Hocklynn manufactures custom metal drip trays and containment trays for industrial, commercial and OEM applications. When standard catalogue trays do not fit your equipment, your process or your site, we fabricate bespoke drip trays and containment solutions to your exact dimensions and specification at our Bristol facility.

Standard drip trays from industrial suppliers cover common sizes and basic applications. But many installations require trays in non-standard dimensions, unusual shapes, specific materials, or with features that off-the-shelf products simply do not offer. A machine with an irregular footprint, an installation that must fit into a confined space, a process that demands stainless steel construction for chemical compatibility, or an OEM product that needs an integrated drip tray as a built-in component all call for custom fabrication rather than compromise with a catalogue size that only approximately fits.

When Standard Drip Trays Fall Short

The limitations of standard drip trays become apparent quickly in industrial and commercial environments. A tray that is too small leaves parts of the equipment unprotected. A tray that is too large wastes floor space and creates trip hazards. A mild steel tray in a washdown environment corrodes within months. A shallow tray under a machine that produces significant fluid volume overflows before anyone notices.

Custom fabrication solves these problems at source. We manufacture drip trays and containment trays to any dimensions, in any of our standard sheet metal materials, with features designed around your specific application. Raised edges, pouring lips, drain outlets, handles, feet, caster mounts, mesh covers, internal baffles and compartment dividers are all fabricated as part of the tray rather than added as aftermarket accessories.

Materials

Mild steel drip trays with powder coating suit general industrial environments where the tray will contain oils, coolants, water or other non-aggressive fluids. The powder coat finish provides a durable, easy-clean surface and allows colour coding to match site safety requirements or equipment branding.

Stainless steel drip trays are specified for food production areas, pharmaceutical facilities, chemical handling, laboratories and any environment where the tray will be subject to washdown procedures, aggressive cleaning agents or contact with corrosive substances. We fabricate stainless steel containment trays in 304 and 316 grade with welded, ground and cleaned seams that maintain full corrosion resistance and meet hygiene requirements.

Galvanised steel drip trays provide cost-effective corrosion resistance for outdoor installations and environments with moderate moisture exposure. Aluminium drip trays serve applications where weight is a consideration or where the tray needs to be moved and repositioned regularly.

Applications

We fabricate custom drip trays and containment trays for a wide range of applications. Machine tool drip trays catch coolant, oil and swarf from CNC machines, lathes, milling machines and grinding equipment. These trays are often fabricated to match the exact footprint of the machine, with drain outlets positioned for connection to coolant recovery systems.

Spill containment trays for chemical storage, battery charging areas, fuel handling and hazardous substance storage help meet COSHH and environmental compliance requirements. These trays are sized to contain the volume of the largest container stored on them, with raised edges and leak-proof welded construction.

OEM drip trays built into manufactured equipment as an integral component. Equipment manufacturers who need drip trays as part of their own products benefit from our prototype-to-production approach. We can produce initial samples for design validation then transition to scheduled repeat production as part of your assembly supply chain.

Transformer drip trays and oil containment bunds for electrical equipment, generator sets and hydraulic power units. These trays are fabricated to accommodate the footprint and anchor points of the equipment they sit beneath, with capacity calculated to contain the full oil volume in the event of a catastrophic leak.

Food and beverage production trays for use beneath processing equipment, filling lines, packaging machinery and storage vessels. Stainless steel construction with radiused internal corners and smooth welded seams facilitates cleaning and prevents bacterial accumulation.

Design and Manufacturing

You can supply us with CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches, or simply the dimensions and features you need. For replacement trays, we can work from a sample or site measurements of the equipment the tray will serve. Our engineering team will review your requirements and confirm a manufacturing approach before production begins.

We produce custom drip trays in quantities from one-off prototypes to repeat production batches. For OEMs and equipment manufacturers with ongoing requirements, all tooling and programme data is retained so that reorders are fast and consistent.

If you need custom metal drip trays or containment trays that standard catalogue products cannot provide, contact our team to discuss your requirements.
